Celia Ryan, LICSW-CP, DCSW, CT

 

Celia Ryan is a board certified clinical social worker and is nationally

certified in thanatology. She graduated with honors from the University

of London in 1968 and came to USA in 1977. She worked for sixteen

years in MD in a local hospital emergency room as a crisis intervention

specialist and on the mobile crisis team. She earned a master’s degree

in clinical social work from the University of Maryland in 1990.

 

Celia has pursued extensive post-graduate work in the death and

dying field and is nationally certified as a grief therapist by the

Association for Death Education and Counseling. (www.ADEC.org)

She has a wealth of group support experience as well as with individual,

couples and family counseling in her private practice.

She has presented nationally and internationally and now lives in

South Carolina where she offers consulting, training and

workshops in the areas of grief and loss.

Her special interests lie in the area of Forgiveness,

personal development and spirituality.

 

Celia has offered clinical support, development and consultation

to many agencies, including the National Marrow Donor Program

of NIH, National Kidney Foundation and the American

Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Archdiocese of Washington

Family Life Office, Philadelphia Family Life Office,

Hospice Caring, Inc. of MD, Centro Tepeyac, MD,

Project Rachel in DC. She has made numerous presentations

for MD NASW, the Montgomery Co. MD Mental Health Association,

Hospices, and so on. She was a frequent guest on MD local cable TV.

Celia is an honorary board member of Rainbows, MD.
